Pink Flowering Plants

Pink is the colour most gardens reach for first, and for good reason. It ranges from the softest blush to a hot, tropical pink, so there is one for every mood.

    Choosing pink flowering plants

Pink covers more ground than any other flower colour. At the pale end it is gentle and romantic, easy to slot into almost any border. At the hot end it is bright and exotic, a colour that holds its own next to strong foliage and deep reds. Knowing which end you want makes the planting much easier.

The plants here flower across the seasons and suit borders, pots and cutting alike. Soft pinks sit well with silver, white and purple for a cool scheme; hot pinks come alive with orange, lime green and dark leaves. Most prefer sun or light shade and ask for very little once settled.

All grown for UK gardens and sent out well rooted.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Soft pinks read as calm and romantic and blend into almost any scheme. Hot pinks are bright and tropical and want bold partners like orange, lime and dark foliage. Each plant page describes where its colour sits.

Plenty here bloom for months, especially with deadheading. Combining early and late varieties keeps pink in the border from spring well into autumn.

Some do, particularly the woodland types, though most flower best with a good amount of sun. Check the aspect listed on each plant if your spot is shady.

Soft pink loves silver foliage, white and purple. Hot pink wants contrast, so pair it with orange, lime green or bronze leaves for real impact.
