A houseplant lasts far longer than a bunch of flowers. Begonia 'Inca Flame' has spiralling copper, burgundy and silver leaves on a compact plant that suits a shelf. Pilea Peperomioides 'Mojito' produces pups that can be potted up and passed on, and the Areca Palm is an easy palm for a bright room.
We work with trusted partner nurseries to source and curate the best quality plants. Every plant is grown on and supplied at its healthiest, delivered across the UK and covered by our 7 day live arrival guarantee. For something special, browse Luxury Houseplant Gifts.
Choose a plant that suits her home and how much time she has. For a bright room, Ficus elastica 'Belize' has pink-tinged leaves that are strongest in good light. For a shelf or a smaller space, Begonia 'Inca Flame' stays compact.
If she is new to houseplants, the Chinese Money Plant is easy going and produces offsets she can pot up and give away.
Something for the plants she already has. A Pepin Self Watering Olla releases water slowly through its clay walls, and a scalloped indoor watering can makes watering a nicer job.
If she would rather choose for herself, a GrowTropicals e-gift card can be spent on plants, planters or accessories. There are more practical ideas in Plant Care Gifts.
The Kew Gardens soaps and hand creams in Self Care are a safe choice, along with candles such as the Bonsai Tree Scented Jar Candle, which has citrus, jasmine and woody balsam notes.
For her walls, the Cacti Scene A4 Print and the Greenhouse Study print are both by illustrator Katrina Sophia. The brass Plant Animals and botanical decorations are in Home Accessories.
Epipremnum 'Happy Leaf' tolerates a wide range of conditions and will trail from a shelf or climb a moss pole. Tradescantia 'Nanouk' is forgiving of inconsistent care and has pink, lilac and cream leaves.
Water both when the top 2 to 3 cm of compost feels dry, and feed every two to four weeks with a balanced liquid fertiliser in spring and summer. More forgiving plants are in Easy Care Houseplants.
An olla is a porous clay vessel that sits in the compost and holds water. The water seeps slowly through its walls, so the roots take up moisture at their own pace. The Pepin Self Watering Olla Heart is handcrafted in Portugal, and each one is slightly different.
It suits someone who finds it hard to judge when to water. Other designs and watering cans are in Watering.
Yes. The Houseplant Heart Card has a heart made of monstera, calathea and fern leaves, and the Monstera Deliciosa Card is a watercolour by Katrina Sophia. Both are blank inside for your own message and come with a recycled kraft envelope.
Other designs are in Greeting Cards, and a brass Plant Animal is small enough to tuck inside one.
