Plant Care

What do your pot sizes mean, and how big will my plant be?

The size on every listing is the diameter of the nursery pot the plant is growing in, measured across the top, for example 12cm. Where we can, we add an approximate height too. Photos can make a plant look bigger or smaller than it is, so the pot size is the most reliable guide.

If a size sounds small for the price, it helps to know that younger plants nearly always settle into a home faster than large ones. They adapt to your light and humidity more quickly, put on new growth sooner and build stronger roots. Every plant is an individual, so the one you receive may be a little taller, fuller or leafier than the photo, and that is normal rather than a fault.

Plants ship in their nursery pot unless the listing says otherwise. For a decorative pot, choose one 1 to 2cm wider than the nursery pot.
