🌿 Plant Care Tips

Labisia 'Turtleback' is a rare tropical plant known for its distinctive foliage. The elliptical, glossy leaves exhibit a unique pattern reminiscent of a turtle's shell, with dark green surfaces and lighter green venation. This species is native to the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, where it thrives in warm, humid environments under the forest canopy.

Native to: Borneo

Water: Maintain consistently moist soil, ensuring it is not waterlogged. Water when the top layer of the potting mix feels slightly dry to the touch. Avoid allowing the soil to dry out completely, as this can cause leaf curling or browning.

Light: Prefers low to medium light conditions. Bright, indirect light is ideal; direct sunlight can cause leaf scorching. Placing the plant near a north or east-facing window is suitable.

Humidity: Thrives in high humidity environments, ideally between 60% and 70%. If indoor humidity is low, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant in a terrarium to maintain adequate moisture levels.

Temperature: Favours warm temperatures ranging from 15°C to 29°C. Protect the plant from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations to prevent stress.

We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.

Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.

All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.

The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
