Native to regions of Southeast Asia, including India, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, and Singapore, this plant features heart-shaped leaves covered in soft, velvety hairs. New leaves emerge with a reddish-bronze hue, gradually maturing to a deep green, providing a dynamic visual appeal. As a climbing species, Ficus villosa produces aerial roots that enable it to ascend supports, making it an excellent choice for indoor trellises, terrariums or moss poles.
Native to Ficus villosa originates from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, specifically India, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, and Singapore. In its natural habitat, it thrives as a climbing plant, often found scaling tree trunks in humid, shaded environments.
Water Maintain consistently moist soil for Ficus villosa, watering when the top layer feels dry to the touch. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot; ensure the potting mix is well-draining to facilitate proper moisture balance.
Light Provide bright, indirect light to support healthy growth. While Ficus villosa can tolerate partial shade, insufficient light may slow its development. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate leaves.
Humidity High humidity levels are essential for Ficus villosa, ideally above 70%. Regular misting or the use of a humidifier can help maintain appropriate moisture in the air. Its preference for elevated humidity makes it well-suited for cultivation in terrariums.
Temperature Ficus villosa prefers warm indoor temperatures, ideally between 15°C and 24°C. Protect the plant from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations, as these can cause stress and hinder growth.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.
Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
