The Kniphofia 'Pineapple Popsicle' is a compact, incredibly free-flowering red hot poker from the popular dwarf Popsicle Series, smothered through the warmer months in short, chunky pokers of fresh, creamy pineapple-yellow. Neat enough for the smallest garden yet every bit as exotic as its taller cousins, this torch lily brings weeks of sunny colour and busy pollinators to borders and patio pots alike.

Rated RHS H5, it is a fully hardy perennial that copes with temperatures down to around -15C once established. It is deciduous, dying back to a tidy crown over winter and returning strongly in spring, and it is bred to rebloom over an exceptionally long season. Leaving the old foliage over the crown through winter gives helpful natural frost protection.

Water through the first summer to establish, after which it is pleasingly drought-tolerant and well suited to dry and gravel gardens.
