Description

Three fresh green herbs that do most of the work in a kitchen, flat-leaf parsley, fine-leaved chives and aniseed-tinged chervil, boxed together as a ready-made herb garden for a windowsill, patio or veg bed. Chives and chervil are two of the classic French fines herbes, and broad-leaved Italian parsley finishes almost everything else. The box makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who cooks.

Sowing and growing

  • Anthriscus cerefolium 'Brussels Winter' chervil: sow direct March to September in light shade; ready in 6 to 8 weeks; a hardy annual that dislikes transplanting
  • Allium schoenoprasum 'Fine Leaf' chives: sow indoors March to April or outdoors April to June, 1cm deep; a hardy perennial
  • Petroselinum crispum 'Gigante d'Italia' parsley: soak the seed overnight and sow March to June, 1cm deep; slow to germinate, often 3 to 4 weeks
  • Position: sun or part shade in moist, fertile soil or compost
  • Harvest: cut little and often from early summer to keep fresh leaves coming

Can I grow these herbs indoors?

Yes, all three suit a bright kitchen windowsill. Chives and parsley are the most reliable indoors, while chervil prefers a slightly cooler, less sunny spot. Use pots at least 15cm wide and cut regularly.

When should I sow the Kitchen Herbs collection?

Start from March. Chives and parsley can be sown indoors in early spring, while chervil is best sown direct from March and again through summer and early autumn for a steady supply, as it does not like being moved.

Is this collection a good gift?

It is designed as one: three packets in a printed Piccolo gift box, with growing instructions for each herb. It suits beginners and keen cooks alike, as all three are easy and useful.

What is your returns policy?

We always aim to make sure our customers love our products, but if you do need to return an order within 14 days of purchase (not including plants*), or any items are damaged, we’re happy to help. Just email us directly at hello@growtropicals.com, and we’ll take you through the process. 

Please note: we cannot be held liable for any packaging costs should the original packaging be discarded.

*Unfortunately we cannot accept returns of undamaged plants as these are perishable items and are not saleable upon return. If a plant is damaged, we will compensate for this as per our live arrival guarantee.

When will my order arrive and how much is shipping?

When placing your order, you can choose from three dispatch speeds to suit your needs: Economy (prepared and shipped within 4-5 days), Standard (3-5 days), or Express (dispatched the very next day). Please keep in mind that "dispatch" refers to the time it takes our team to prepare and pack your items before handing them over to the courier, not the total delivery time.

Shipping costs are based on your total order value and will be calculated at checkout, with free shipping automatically applied to all orders over £60. For a full breakdown of shipping prices see our Help Centre.

Additionally, to protect the health and quality of our live plants, orders containing plants are exclusively shipped Monday through Thursday. This careful scheduling prevents your plants from being stuck in a dark shipping depot over the weekend, ensuring they arrive at your door vibrant and healthy.
