Water
Water Dracaena surculosa 'Mike' when the top 2–3 cm of soil are dry, keeping the soil slightly moist but never soggy. It’s sensitive to overwatering, so ensure the pot has adequate drainage. During winter, reduce watering as the plant’s growth naturally slows.
Light
This plant does best in bright, indirect light but can adapt to moderate or lower light conditions. While it can tolerate lower light, the yellow variegation on the leaves may be more pronounced with slightly brighter conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can lead to leaf scorch and colour fading.
Humidity
Dracaena surculosa 'Mike' prefers moderate indoor humidity, around 40% to 60%. It can tolerate average household humidity but may benefit from a humidifier especially in the winter months.
Temperature
The ideal temperature range for Dracaena surculosa 'Mike' is between 18°C and 26°C. It should be protected from cold drafts and temperatures below 13°C, which can stress the plant. Keep it away from heating vents or air conditioning units to avoid sudden temperature changes that could affect its growth and leaf condition.
