The Crocosmia 'George Davidson' is the classic yellow-flowered montbretia and the rarer counterpoint to the more familiar red-flowered cultivars. A Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit holder, it carries arching wiry spikes of clear, butter-yellow, six-petalled trumpets from mid-July through August, set against fresh-green, sword-like foliage that holds its texture beautifully through the season.

This is the cultivar to reach for when you want the late-summer fireworks of a montbretia in a warmer, sun-drenched colour palette rather than the obvious red. What should I do when my plant arrives?

Think of it like arriving somewhere new after a long journey: it needs a moment to adjust.

It's completely normal for your plant to look a little tired or droopy after transit. This is called transit stress, and most plants bounce back within a week or two. You might see a yellow leaf or some drooping, don't panic, and resist the urge to overwater or start repotting straight away.
