A curious, hard-to-find species with an eye-catching, branched stalk protruding from its core which produces delicate, contrasting red flowers. Native to Central America.

An epiphytic Bromeliad that belongs to the large Tillandsia subfamily family.
Adds structure to your collection due to its striking, architectural appearance.
Leaves are glossy and green with silvery tinges.

Growth pattern: Rosette

Water: When the top 2-3cm of soil becomes dry.

Ideal Position: South or east facing

Light: Bright, indirect or filtered light.

Recommended Substrate: Epiphytic Bromeliads don't need a substrate. You can water them by adding a little bit of water to the crown. Watering the substrate will lead to rot.

Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use.
