Biophytum sensitivum is a charming little plant that brings a touch of the tropics into your home. Often called the "mini palm tree," it has delicate, palm-like fronds and a fascinating behaviour—it closes its fronds at night or when it's thirsty. This fast-growing plant can even shoot out seeds, giving you the chance to grow more mini trees.

Native to: Biophytum sensitivum hails from tropical regions all over the world, including India, Southeast Asia, and parts of Africa and the Americas. It loves warm, humid environments just like those found in its natural habitats.

Water: Keep the soil consistently moist for your Biophytum sensitivum. Water it regularly, making sure the soil doesn’t dry out completely. A well-draining potting mix is best to avoid soggy conditions that can harm the plant.

Light: This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can be too intense and may scorch its delicate fronds. A spot near a window with filtered light or in a bright room without direct sun exposure works well.

Humidity: High humidity is key for Biophytum sensitivum. It does best in humidity levels between 70% and 90%. Growing it in a terrarium or a humidity-controlled cabinet is ideal. If you don't have one, using a humidifier or placing the plant on a pebble tray with water can help keep the air moist enough.

Temperature: Aim to keep the temperature between 18°C to 26°C. This plant loves warmth and doesn't do well in temperatures below 15°C. Keeping it away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes will ensure it stays happy and healthy indoors.

Please Note: These plants are sold at flowering size. Once they reach maturity and begin flowering, they will produce flowers and seeds for 6-9 months before eventually completing their life cycle.
