Begonia borneensis is a captivating species native to the rainforests of Borneo, renowned for its iridescent foliage that can display hues ranging from green to blue or purple, depending on lighting conditions . This begonia is a member of the Petermannia section and was first described by Alphonse de Candolle in 1859 . Its striking appearance and adaptability make it a prized addition to terrariums and indoor plant collections.
In cultivation, Begonia borneensis typically reaches a height of 30–50 cm, though it can grow taller under optimal conditions. The plant produces delicate, pale pink flowers and thrives in warm, humid environments although can grow well in household humidity.

Tropical rainforests of Borneo, Southeast Asia.
Water:
Maintain consistent moisture by watering when the top inch of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
Light:
Provide bright, indirect light or filtered sunlight. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves.
Humidity:
Prefers high humidity levels but can be acclimated to home environment.
Temperature:
Thrives in temperatures between 20–30°C (68–86°F). Avoid exposure to temperatures below 10°C (50°F) .

We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.
That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.
Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
