Thyme 'de Provence' Seeds

Yes. Thyme is a hardy, evergreen perennial that comes back every year. It tends to get woody after four or five years, so many gardeners raise fresh plants from seed every few seasons.

Usually two to four weeks. The seed is very fine, so sow it on the surface and keep the compost just moist and at around 15 to 20°C. Prick the seedlings out into small clumps rather than singly.

Thyme is ideal for pots. Use a gritty, free-draining compost in a pot with good drainage holes, place it in full sun, and water only when the compost is dry. Raise the pot onto feet in winter so it does not sit wet.
