Marigold 'Starfire Mix' Seeds

Yes. Signet marigold petals are edible and have a light citrus flavour. Pull the petals from the green base and use them fresh in salads or as decoration on cakes and desserts. Only eat flowers that have not been sprayed.

Sow indoors in March or April for early flowers, or sow directly outdoors in May once the soil has warmed. Plant indoor-raised seedlings out after the last frost, usually from late May.

Signet marigolds have much finer, lacy leaves and masses of small single flowers, giving a soft, airy mound. French marigolds have larger, often double flowers on bulkier plants. Signets are also the type most often picked for edible petals.

*Unfortunately we cannot accept returns of undamaged plants as these are perishable items and are not saleable upon return. If a plant is damaged, we will compensate for this as per our live arrival guarantee.

Please keep in mind that "dispatch" refers to the time it takes our team to prepare and pack your items before handing them over to the courier, not the total delivery time.

Additionally, to protect the health and quality of our live plants, orders containing plants are exclusively shipped Monday through Thursday. This careful scheduling prevents your plants from being stuck in a dark shipping depot over the weekend, ensuring they arrive at your door vibrant and healthy.
