Lavender 'Munstead' Seeds

Lavender is slow: expect 20 to 40 days, and some seeds may take up to three months. Keep the compost just moist at 18 to 21°C. Many growers give the sown pot four to six weeks in the fridge first, which mimics winter and often gives a more even result.

Seedlings sown early in the year may give a few flowers in their first summer, but the main display comes from the second year onwards. Plant them out in a sunny, well-drained spot once they are bushy and well rooted.

Yes. 'Munstead' is an English lavender, the type normally used for culinary lavender. Use the flowers sparingly in sugar, biscuits, syrups and teas, as the flavour is strong.

*Unfortunately we cannot accept returns of undamaged plants as these are perishable items and are not saleable upon return. If a plant is damaged, we will compensate for this as per our live arrival guarantee.
