Aubergine 'Slim Jim' Seeds

Sow indoors from February to April. Aubergines need a long, warm season, so earlier sowings in a heated propagator give the plants time to crop well before autumn. Seeds need 21°C or more to germinate reliably.

Yes, its compact habit suits containers. Use a pot at least 30cm wide and deep with rich compost, feed regularly once flowers appear and keep it well watered. A warm, sunny patio or a greenhouse gives the best results.

A greenhouse or polytunnel gives the most dependable crop in the UK, because aubergines need warmth to set fruit. In a hot, sheltered, south-facing spot they can also crop outside in a good summer.

*Unfortunately we cannot accept returns of undamaged plants as these are perishable items and are not saleable upon return. If a plant is damaged, we will compensate for this as per our live arrival guarantee.

Additionally, to protect the health and quality of our live plants, orders containing plants are exclusively shipped Monday through Thursday. This careful scheduling prevents your plants from being stuck in a dark shipping depot over the weekend, ensuring they arrive at your door vibrant and healthy.
