Dryopteris koidzumiana is one of the most quietly spectacular hardy ferns you can grow, prized for the warm coppery-red and rose-pink colour of its emerging spring fronds. A choice Japanese wood fern from the mountain woodlands of Japan, it brings a flush of unexpected colour to the shade garden before settling into elegant, glossy green for the rest of the season. What should I do when my plant arrives?
