Anthurium papillilaminum 'Marie' x luxurians is a distinctive hybrid created by Robin Deniz in Sweden, combining the velvety, dark-hued foliage of Anthurium papillilaminum 'Marie' with the textured, bullate leaves of Anthurium luxurians. This cross results in a plant with large, heart-shaped leaves that emerge with a brownish tint, transitioning through various colour phases before maturing to a deep green. The leaves exhibit a quilted surface and pronounced venation, reflecting the unique characteristics of both parent species.
Native to
Anthurium papillilaminum is native to the lowland rainforests of Panama, particularly in Colón and Darién Provinces, where it grows terrestrially in humid, shaded environments. Anthurium luxurians originates from the tropical regions of South America, notably Colombia, thriving along stream banks in rainforest habitats. The hybrid inherits its preference for warm, humid conditions from these tropical origins.
Water
Maintain consistently moist soil for this hybrid, allowing the top third of the potting mix to dry out between waterings. During the growing season, water liberally, reducing frequency in cooler months to prevent waterlogging. Ensure the pot has adequate drainage to avoid root rot.
Light
Provide bright, indirect light to emulate the dappled sunlight of its native understory habitat. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. A position near an east or north-facing window with filtered light is ideal.
Humidity
This hybrid thrives in high humidity levels of 70–80%. To achieve this, use a humidifier or place the plant on a tray of moist pebbles. Regular misting can also help maintain humidity. Due to its high humidity requirements, it is well-suited for cultivation in terrariums.
Temperature
Maintain indoor temperatures between 18–27°C for optimal growth. Protect the plant from cold drafts and avoid exposure to temperatures below 15°C, as this can hinder its development.

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.
Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.
We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.
We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.
That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.
Some plants such as Begonia, may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
