Ficus lyrata, commonly known as the fiddle-leaf fig, is a popular houseplant appreciated for its large, violin-shaped leaves and upright growth habit. Native to the tropical rainforests of western Africa, specifically countries like Cameroon and Sierra Leone, this species thrives in warm, humid environments. When cultivated indoors, it can reach heights of up to 3 meters, making it a striking addition to interior spaces.

Water Maintain moderately moist soil, allowing the top layer to dry out slightly between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the pot has adequate drainage. During the growing season, typically spring and summer, water more frequently, reducing in autumn and winter when growth slows.
Light Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can cause leaf scorch, while insufficient light may result in slow growth or leaf drop. Placing the plant near an east-facing window is ideal, but it can adapt to other locations with filtered light.
Humidity Thrives in environments with humidity levels between 30% and 65%. In drier indoor conditions, especially during winter months, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a tray with water and pebbles to increase humidity. Regularly misting the leaves can also help maintain adequate moisture levels.
Temperature Fiddle-leaf figs prefer temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. They are sensitive to drafts and sudden temperature changes, so keep them away from windows or doors that may let in cold air, as well as heating vents that could cause temperature fluctuations.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.
Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
