Video Content Creator

About GrowTropicals

GrowTropicals is an award-winning UK-based online retailer of houseplants. We’re passionate about making plant collecting accessible while building a brand that genuinely connects with the plant community. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a confident and creative Video Content Creator to lead on content creation to grow our organic video and livestream content.

The Role

As a Content Creator, you will be energetic, well-organised and confident on and behind the camera. Your mission is to plan, create, and manage video content across our social platforms, working as a team with the marketing and product teams to help reach our wider company goals. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to craft content that educates and entertains across the various social media channels. A passion and knowledge for houseplants is ideal for this role.

You will be part of the marketing team and work closely with the wider marketing and ecommerce teams to ensure content aligns with brand goals, campaigns and launches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, film, edit, and publish video content across TikTok, Instagram (Reels & Stories), and YouTube

  • Confidently present on camera for educational videos, product promotions and brand-led storytelling

  • Host regular Instagram and TikTok livestreams, engaging with the community in real time

  • Maintain a consistent content schedule aligned with marketing goals and priorities

  • Repurpose content across platforms to maximise reach and performance

  • Track engagement and performance, using insights to refine future content

  • Stay up to date with platform trends, formats, and best practices

  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns, launches, and promotions

Skills & Experience

  • Experience creating and editing video content for social media

  • Strong video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar)

  • Confident, clear, and engaging on camera

  • Solid understanding of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube content strategies

  • Highly organised with strong time-management skills

  • Interest in houseplants or horticulture (beneficial but not essential)

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a growing team

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 based on experience

Horticultural Assistant

As a Horticultural Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the care, preparation, and presentation of plants, ensuring the highest possible standards for our customers and events.

An anticipated start date in mid-October 2025 at our new York premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within a small, fast-paced team at a leading indoor plant retailer, ensuring high standards of plant health, customer service, and operational efficiency.

  • Select and inspect plants for customer orders, checking for pests, damage, or imperfections.

  • Package orders safely for national delivery, maintaining presentation and plant quality.

  • Assist with propagation, labelling, and processing of new stock.
    Monitor and maintain plant health, with developed knowledge of pest identification and treatment methods.

  • Opportunities to represent the company at major plant shows. Collaborate with professionals across the horticulture sector during show builds and live events.

Experience Required:

  • Practical experience in horticulture, ideally with a focus on indoor or tropical plants.

  • Strong plant identification skills and an understanding of common pests and diseases.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.

  • High attention to detail, particularly when selecting and preparing plants for customers.

  • A proactive attitude with the flexibility to adapt in a dynamic retail environment.

  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, or events (desirable but not essential).
