Gifts for plant lovers this Black November

Choosing a gift for someone who loves plants

Start with what they already grow. Someone with a full windowsill may have run out of pots or space, so a planter from Pots & Macrame or a Recycled Sari Plant Hanger gives them somewhere new to put a plant. A newer plant owner may get more use from the Houseplant Care Cards boxed set, which covers 32 common houseplants plus the basics of watering, light and repotting. If you are not sure what they have, a GrowTropicals E-Gift Card lets them pick their own plants and accessories.

Candles, hand creams and gifts for the home

For a small treat, the Kew Gardens Bergamot and Ginger Hand Cream suits hands that do a lot of potting, and the Bonsai Tree Scented Jar Candle has a green, grassy scent with citrus and jasmine notes. Plant charms such as the brass Plant Animal Sloth clip onto a leaf or stem and make an easy stocking filler. There are more ideas in Self Care and Home Accessories.

Books, cards and gift plants

Anyone who likes to know the story behind a plant name will enjoy Plant Names Simplified, a pocket guide to botanical Latin first published in 1931. Add a card from Greeting Cards, such as the Monstera Deliciosa Christmas Card. To give a living plant, Pilea peperomioides is easy to look after, and Luxury Houseplant Gifts has larger plants for a bigger present. Plants are delivered across the UK with our 7 day live arrival guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is everything in Gift Offers reduced?

No. This page shows every gift that is in stock right now. Some items have a reduced price for Black November, and each product page shows the current price and any saving.

Black November is a whole month of plant deals. For reduced plants and accessories across the shop, visit the Black November sale, or browse All Gifts to see our gift range in one place.

What is a good gift for someone who already has lots of plants?

Accessories are a safe choice, because they do not depend on knowing which plants someone owns. Pots, hangers and watering tools always get used. The Pepin Self Watering Olla is a handmade clay olla that releases water into the compost gradually.

You can also browse Watering and Plant Care Gifts, or give an e-gift card so they can choose for themselves.

What gifts suit a new plant owner?

An easy plant and a little guidance work well together. Pilea peperomioides is easy to look after and produces small offsets that can be potted up and shared.

Pair it with the Houseplant Care Cards boxed set, which explains what each plant wants and what to check when something goes wrong. For plants sold as a set, look through Plant Starter Kits.

Do you have Christmas gifts for plant lovers?

Yes. Many of the gifts on this page suit Christmas, including festive cards such as the Monstera Deliciosa Christmas Card and small stocking fillers like the brass plant charms.

For a wider choice, see Christmas Gifts. Gifts are also grouped by occasion in Birthday Gifts and Housewarming Gifts.

Can I send a plant as a gift?

Yes. Plants are delivered across the UK with our 7 day live arrival guarantee. An easy plant is the safest choice, because the person receiving it may not have grown houseplants before; Easy Care Houseplants has plenty of ideas.

For a smaller spend, Houseplants Under £10 has small plants that pair well with a card or a pot. For a bigger present, look at Luxury Houseplant Gifts.

What if I do not know which gift to choose?

A GrowTropicals E-Gift Card lets the person choose their own plants, pots or accessories. As an e-gift card it is sent by email, so it also works when you need a gift quickly.

Otherwise, think about where they keep their plants. Plants on a high shelf or in a bright window may need a hanger from Pots & Macrame, and someone who travels may like a self watering olla.
