🌿 Plant Care Tips

Neon Queen Pothos is a vibrant, easy-care plant with striking, heart-shaped leaves that glow in bold shades of chartreuse and lime. Each leaf is a wash of bright, uplifting colour, creating a clean, modern look that instantly lightens and energises any space.

Naturally trailing or climbing, it’s perfect for shelves, hanging planters, or training up a moss pole. True to the Pothos reputation, it’s wonderfully low maintenance.

Native to: While this cultivar is not a wild species but a selected variety in the genus Epipremnum, the genus itself is native to tropical Southeast Asia and the Pacific. In cultivation it retains the vining, epiphytic/climbing tendency of its wild relatives.

Water: Allow the top ~1–3 cm of the potting mix to dry out before watering. Then water thoroughly so that excess drains away. Avoid prolonged standing water as soggy soil increases the risk of root‑rot, especially in variegated forms which often have reduced chlorophyll and slower growth.

Light: Provide bright filtered light (for example near an east or west‑facing window, or behind sheer curtains on a south‑facing window). Avoid strong direct midday sun, as the light‑coloured variegated areas lack the full protection of green tissue and are more vulnerable to scorch. If the plant receives too little light, growth will slow and the variegation may fade or revert towards green.

Humidity: While this cultivar tolerates typical indoor humidity levels in UK homes, it will thrive more vigorously with slightly elevated humidity (for example ~50–65 %). Extra humidity supports healthier foliage and faster growth but is not strictly essential.

Temperature: Maintain indoor temperatures of about 18‑28 °C. Avoid allowing the temperature to fall below around 15 °C, especially for extended periods, and protect from cold drafts or very dry radiator air which can stress the plant and cause variegation to decline or leaf‑tips to brown.
