The Anthurium rioclaroense x is a rare and remarkable wild hybrid that captivates with its unique backstory and striking appearance. A. rioclaroense itself is an unpublished species thought to be closely related to Anthurium magnificum. The hybrid is suspected to involve a species from the Xialophyllium section, and stands out in a world of Anthurium hybrids due to its wild origins and cross-sectional genetics, making it a true collector's item.
Native to: The Anthurium rioclaroense x hybrid traces its lineage to the tropical rainforests of Colombia, specifically linked to the undisclosed species from the region around Rioclaro. Its wild hybrid origins add to its mystique and rarity.
Water: Water your Anthurium rioclaroense x thoroughly, ensuring the soil remains consistently moist but well-draining. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot. It appreciates humidity but be careful not to overwater, especially in lower light conditions.
Light: This Anthurium thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can damage the leaves, so it's best positioned where it receives filtered light, replicating the dappled light of its native rainforest understory. It can tolerate lower light levels but will grow more robustly with sufficient indirect light.
Humidity: High humidity levels between 60% and 80% are ideal for this plant. In the UK, maintaining such humidity can be challenging, so using a humidifier or placing the plant on a pebble tray with water can help. The Anthurium rioclaroense x can also thrive in a larger terrarium, where humidity levels are naturally higher.
Temperature: Keep the Anthurium rioclaroense x in a warm environment, with temperatures ranging from 18°C to 26°C. It does not tolerate cold well and should be protected from temperatures below 15°C. Maintaining a stable, warm temperature similar to its native habitat will promote healthy growth.

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.
Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.
We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.
We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.
That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.
Some plants such as Begonia, may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
