Why is my houseplant losing leaves?

Houseplants can lose leaves for several reasons, usually related to stress.

Overwatering is the most common cause, as it suffocates roots and leads to yellowing and dropping leaves.

Underwatering can also cause leaf loss, with leaves turning dry and crispy. Sudden changes in light, temperature, or humidity can shock your plant, prompting it to shed older leaves.

Pests or disease may also trigger leaf drop, as can nutrient deficiencies. Always check the soil moisture, inspect for insects, and observe environmental conditions.

Removing affected leaves and adjusting care can help your plant recover and encourage healthy new growth.
