Hibiscus syriacus 'Hamabo' is one of the most beautiful and best-loved forms of the hardy Rose of Sharon, holding a coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit. From late summer into early autumn it produces a long succession of large, single, soft blush-pink flowers, each delicately veined and marked with a deep crimson eye. The effect is soft and exotic, yet the plant itself is thoroughly hardy.
Slow and steady, it makes a shapely shrub of around 2 to 3 m tall and 1.5 to 2 m wide, a natural choice for a sunny exotic border or hardy exotic scheme. Plant it in full sun in a warm, sheltered, south or west-facing spot, in any moist but well-drained soil, or grow it in a large pot on the patio. Prune lightly in early spring for an open framework, and do not worry if it is slow to wake, as this hibiscus is one of the last shrubs to leaf up each year.
Every 'Hamabo' we send out is a strong, well-rooted, hand-selected plant, ready to bring its award-winning blooms to your garden for many years.
All plants are covered by our 7-day live arrival guarantee. We pack every order in protective, sustainable packaging designed to keep your plants safe in transit, and every plant is checked before it ships. On the rare occasion something is not right on arrival, we will make it good, provided the plant is still in its original nursery pot.
