Fernwood Soft Tree Fern Totems are an ecologically friendly, non-toxic 50x5x5cm pole made from New Zealand Tree Fern. These natural totems, also known as Xaxim, are excellent for use in terrariums and vivariums, easily able to be manipulated to form branches and will support growth of epiphytes, climbing plants, vines and mosses.
The totems hold moisture very well, which in turn will keep steady humidity. The natural capillary action of them makes it easy to keep them damp using a drip or misting system. Fernwood Soft Tree Fern Totems can easily be cut and sculpted to fit individual requirements.
These Soft Tree Fern Totems have unique and natural properties including:
- Very fibrous and strong. They can last many years before having to be replaced.
- Very light weight when dried.
- Natural look and colour. When wet they become much darker.
- Soft and porous for plant roots to easily grow onto and into the fibre.
