Monstera deliciosa 'Thai Constellation' is a variegated relative of the classic Monstera deliciosa. Admired for its unique cream-coloured splashes and marbled patterns on the leaves. This plant not only adds a dramatic visual appeal to any indoor space but also retains the robust and easy-going nature of its green counterpart. With its ability to climb and spread, it can be trained to grow up a pole, making it a centrepiece in any indoor plant collection.
This cultivar is perfect for plant enthusiasts who seek a low-maintenance yet visually captivating houseplant. 'Thai Constellation' thrives in a variety of indoor conditions, making it a versatile addition to your home or office environment.
Native to: Monstera deliciosa originates from the tropical rainforests of southern Mexico and Central America. The 'Thai Constellation' variety was developed in Thailand, hence its name, and it has been bred for its unique variegation patterns.
Water: Water your Monstera 'Thai Constellation' when the top 3 cm of soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot. Use a well-draining potting mix to help manage moisture levels effectively.
Light: This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the variegated leaves, so it's best to place it near a window where it can receive filtered light. It can tolerate lower light conditions, but its growth may slow, and variegation might be less pronounced.
Humidity: Monstera 'Thai Constellation' prefers humidity levels between 60% and 80%. To maintain these levels, especially in drier indoor climates, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a pebble tray filled with water. This plant can also do well in terrariums due to its humidity needs.
Temperature: Keep this Monstera in an environment where temperatures range from 18°C to 27°C. Avoid exposing it to temperatures below 15°C, as cold drafts can damage the foliage and hinder growth. This plant thrives in warm, stable indoor conditions that mimic its tropical origins.
