Native to: The Hoya sp. Jateng 'Splash' is named after Central Java, Indonesia (Jawa Tengah). It originates from tropical regions, contributing to its preference for warm and humid conditions.
Water: Water your Hoya Jateng 'Splash' when the top inch (2.5 cm) of soil is dry. It's important to avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Ensure that excess water drains out of the pot to prevent the roots from sitting in water. During the growing season (spring and summer), you can fertilize the plant every two weeks with a diluted balanced liquid fertilizer.
Light: This plant thrives in bright, indirect light, which helps maintain its vibrant variegation. It can tolerate some lower light conditions, but optimal growth and coloration are achieved with adequate light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. If natural light is insufficient, consider using a grow light for 12-16 hours a day.
Humidity: The Hoya Jateng 'Splash' prefers high humidity levels, ideally between 60% and 70%. This can be achieved by using a humidifier, placing the plant on a pebble tray with water, or regularly misting the leaves. Given its high humidity requirements, it can also thrive in a terrarium environment.
Temperature: Maintain a temperature range of 18°C to 27°C for optimal growth. This plant does not tolerate cold well and should be kept away from drafts and sudden temperature changes. Ensure that the temperature does not drop below 15°C to avoid stressing the plant.

All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
