Unusual leaves, very thick and silvery. They indeed remind me of dragon scales. The plant arrived with some new leaves opening and so far day by day is looking bushier and bigger. Fingers crossed it will adapt to new home.

She was a little wonky from transit but straightened out just fine from natural light. I did put her under a grow light about a month later and she continues to thrive.

🤍 ALOCASIA SILVER DRAGON 🤍 Of all the alocasia I own, this has to be my all time favourite. ☺️ This plant is one of my newest plants that I own and has beautifully patterned leaves that I could stare at all day (I guess that’s where the name comes from!) I don’t have the best rep with alocasias, so I’m hoping this one doesn’t drop all it’s leaves in the winter. 🙈 🔎 Alocasia baginda 🛍️ houseofkojo for £8.99 in July 2023 (use code SONIA_PLANTS for 10% off all HoK orders!) 🌧️ This alo is long overdue a repot, so at the minute, it gets watered twice a week. 🌿 Plant Care Tips

Alocasia suhirmaniana 'Purple' is a distinctive tropical plant known for its large, arrow-shaped leaves. The foliage is glossy dark green on the upper surface, with prominent pale grey-green veins, while the undersides exhibit a deep purple hue. This species originates from Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, where it thrives in the humid, shaded environments of lowland rainforests.

Native to:
Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, specifically in lowland rainforest areas near limestone slopes.

Water:
Maintain consistently moist soil, allowing the top 2-3 centimetres to dry out slightly between waterings. Ensure the potting mix is well-draining to prevent waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root rot.

Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while too little light may slow growth. Position the plant near an east or west-facing window, ensuring it receives filtered sunlight.

Humidity:
Thrives in high humidity levels, ideally between 60% and 70%. If indoor humidity is low, increase moisture around the plant by misting regularly, using a humidifier, or placing the plant on a pebble tray with water

Temperature:
Favors warm temperatures between 19°C and 34°C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 15°C and protect the plant from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.

All plants are shipped using express next day services with DPD, UPS, Parcelforce and Royal Mail.

We offer economy shipping (3-5 day dispatch) and standard delivery (1-3 day dispatch).

For guaranteed next day dispatch please selected Express shipping at checkout available at an additional cost.

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.

Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.

We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.

We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.

Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.

All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.

The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
