Juvenile leaves are oval and simple, maturing into narrow, intricately cut foliage that appears almost like fine lace.

In its native environment, it grows in humid, dappled-light conditions and climbing trees. This species remains relatively compact compared to large Monstera, making it a good candidate for maturing in a pot with vertical support such as a moss pole or trellis
