• Is Muehlenbeckia axillaris variegated hardy in the UK?

  Yes, it is hardy in most of the UK, rated around RHS H4. The variegated form is slightly more tender than the plain green species, so in colder or exposed gardens give it a sheltered, sunny spot with sharp drainage, or grow it in a pot that can be moved under cover in the hardest frosts.   It is semi-evergreen. In milder gardens and sheltered spots it holds much of its tiny cream and green foliage through winter, while in colder areas or a hard frost it may drop some or all of its leaves and reshoot from the wiry stems in spring.

• How big does Muehlenbeckia axillaris variegated get?

  It is a low, mat-forming groundcover, reaching only around 10 to 15cm tall but spreading 60cm or more as its wiry stems scramble and root along the ground. It is easily kept in check with a trim, which makes it just as useful as a spiller in pots and containers as it is in the open garden.

Then find it a spot with appropriate light, but avoid putting it straight into harsh direct sun or next to a radiator. Think of it like arriving somewhere new after a long journey: it needs a moment to adjust.
  
  It's completely normal for your plant to look a little tired or droopy after transit. This is called transit stress, and most plants bounce back within a week or two. You might see a yellow leaf or some drooping, don't panic, and resist the urge to overwater or start repotting straight away.
