Hoya sp. Vietnam is a tropical, evergreen liana belonging to the Apocynaceae family, distinguished by its thick, succulent-like foliage and vining growth habit. This undetermined species from the Vietnam region is a hemi-epiphyte, meaning it naturally grows upon other plants or trees in its native habitat while still maintaining a connection to the ground. It develops strong, twining stems that can be trained upwards on a support or allowed to trail downward, making it versatile for different indoor spaces.
The leaves are dark green, broadly elliptic to ovate, and feature a notably waxy cuticle that helps the plant retain moisture. A prominent characteristic of this species is the presence of random silver splash or "flecking" across the leaf surface, which varies in intensity from leaf to leaf. The foliage has a visible midrib and subtle, recessed secondary venation, giving the leaves a textured, slightly puckered appearance. Its robust leaf structure and adaptability to home environments makes it perfect for growing indoors.
Native to: Vietnam, where it is found growing in the humid, tropical forest regions of the Indochina peninsula.
Water: Allow the growing medium to dry out by approximately 1/2 of the pot depth before rewatering. This species is drought-tolerant due to its thick leaves but is sensitive to overwatering; ensure the substrate is well-draining to prevent root rot.
Light: Prefers bright filtered light to maintain its deep green colour and encourage the silver splashing. It can tolerate some soft morning sun, but direct midday sunlight should be avoided as it may lead to leaf scorch or yellowing.
Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity, ideally between 60–80%. While it can adapt to average indoor humidity levels better than many other tropical plants, higher humidity will promote faster growth and healthier foliage.
Temperature: Maintain stable indoor temperatures between 18–27 °C. Protect the plant from cold drafts and ensure it is not exposed to temperatures below 15 °C, as it is strictly a tropical species and does not tolerate frost or prolonged cold.

Winter shipping is available during colder months and includes heat packs and thermal insulation where needed.

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.
Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.
We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.
We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.
That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.
Some plants such as Begonia, may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
