This plant adds a touch of elegance and exotic vibe to any indoor space, particularly well-suited for those who appreciate lush, tropical aesthetics. Its distinctive foliage makes it a standout choice for collectors and indoor gardeners.

Native to: Schismatoglottis wallichii is native to the rainforests of Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, and Thailand. In these regions, it typically grows on the forest floor, where it thrives in the warm, humid, and shaded environment.

Water: Water your Schismatoglottis wallichii when the top 3 cm of the substrate is dry. Ensure that the potting mix is well-draining to prevent root rot, which can be a common issue if the plant is left in soggy soil. It's important to maintain consistent moisture, but avoid waterlogging the plant.

Light: This plant prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch its delicate leaves, so it is best placed in a location where it receives filtered light or dappled shade. It can also tolerate lower light conditions, but its growth may be slower, and the silver streaking on the leaves might be less pronounced.

Humidity: Schismatoglottis wallichii thrives in higher-than-average humidity levels, ideally between 60% and 80%. In dry indoor environments, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a pebble tray filled with water to increase the ambient moisture. This plant is also a good candidate for terrariums due to its preference for high humidity.

Temperature: Maintain a temperature range of 18°C to 24°C for optimal growth. Avoid exposing the plant to temperatures below 15°C, as it is sensitive to cold and prefers the stable warmth of its native tropical habitat. Keeping the plant away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes will help it flourish indoors.

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.

Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.

We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.

We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for. Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.

All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting. The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
