Euphorbia 'Sotetsu Kirin' is a fascinating hybrid succulent that blends the durability of Euphorbia mammillaris with the unique form of Euphorbia bupleurifolia, resulting in a plant with thick, columnar stems and a clumping growth habit. It is well-suited for bright indoor environments and is particularly valued for its low-maintenance care needs.
This Euphorbia thrives in full sun to bright, indirect light. For indoor growth, place it near a south- or west-facing window, as it needs at least 4-6 hours of direct light each day to maintain its health. Supplementing with grow lights can be beneficial if natural light is limited.
As a drought-tolerant succulent, Euphorbia 'Sotetsu Kirin' should be watered sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings to avoid root rot. In general, watering every 1-2 weeks is sufficient, though frequency may decrease in winter when the plant’s growth slows. Ensure your pot has good drainage.
This Euphorbia does well in typical indoor humidity levels and can even tolerate lower humidity. Ideal temperature ranges are between 15-24°C, though it can withstand temperatures up to 30°C if kept dry. Protect it from temperatures below 10°C, as cold can damage its structure.
A well-draining cactus or succulent mix with a slightly acidic to neutral pH is best. Adding perlite or coarse sand to the soil mix helps maintain proper drainage, essential for preventing root issues in this plant.
Like many Euphorbias, Sotetsu Kirin produces a sap that can be irritating to skin, so handle with care. Pruning, if necessary, should be done with gloves, and cuttings can be left to callus over before replanting to propagate new plants.

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.
Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.
We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.
We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.
That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for. Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting. The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
