Tillandsia inopinata is an epiphytic air plant native to Hidalgo, Mexico. It features long, narrow leaves that form an upright rosette. When in bloom, it produces a tall inflorescence with multiple red and yellow spikes, adding vibrant colour to its appearance. Mature plants can reach up to 90 cm in height.
Native to: Hidalgo, Mexico.
Water: Submerge the plant in rainwater or spring water for 20–30 minutes every one to two weeks. After soaking, gently shake off excess water and place the plant in a well-ventilated area to dry within three hours to prevent rot. In drier indoor environments, occasional misting between soakings can help maintain adequate moisture levels.
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, so it's best to place the plant near a north or east-facing window or several feet away from a south or west-facing window. Artificial fluorescent lighting can also support its growth.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity levels between 50% and 70%. In the UK, placing the plant in naturally humid rooms like bathrooms or kitchens can be beneficial. If the indoor environment is dry, using a humidifier or regularly misting the plant can help maintain the necessary humidity levels.
Temperature: The optimal temperature range is between 15°C and 30°C. Ensure the indoor environment remains within this range, especially during colder months, as temperatures below 10°C can be detrimental.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.
Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
