Philodendron 'Red Anderson' is a visually striking hybrid known for its unique white, burgundy and pink variegation. The plant is a result of crossing two popular Philodendron varieties: 'Pink Princess' and 'White Knight'. These parent plants contribute to 'Red Anderson's' vibrant coloration and variegation patterns. 

Native to: While the 'Red Anderson' itself is a hybrid, its parent species originate from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. These environments are characterised by high humidity and dappled light, conditions that this hybrid also prefers when grown indoors.

Water: Water your Philodendron 'Red Anderson' when the top 2-3 cm of soil is dry. It’s important to ensure the soil is well-draining to avoid waterlogged roots, which can lead to root rot. Adjust watering frequency in response to seasonal changes, reducing it during cooler months.

Light: This plant thrives in bright, indirect light, which helps maintain its vibrant colours. Direct sunlight should be avoided as it can scorch the leaves. However, too little light may cause the colours to fade, so a balance is essential.

Humidity: Philodendron 'Red Anderson' enjoys high humidity levels between 60% to 80% although will grow well in most house environments. If indoor humidity is low, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a pebble tray with water. 

Temperature: Keep the plant in a warm environment with temperatures ranging from 18°C to 26°C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 15°C, as the plant is sensitive to cold. Consistent warmth will help mimic the tropical conditions it prefers.
