🌿 Plant Care Tips

Epipremnum ‘Happy Leaf’ is a variegated cultivar of Epipremnum aureum, a tropical climbing aroid prized for its marbled foliage and reliable growth indoors. ‘Happy Leaf’ is distinguished by its high-contrast white and green variegation, with creamy-white sectors often dominating large portions of each leaf. The leaves are ovate to heart-shaped with a smooth, slightly leathery texture, emerging light green before developing their characteristic marbling.

Native to:
Native to the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. It grows in tropical forest environments, climbing tree trunks in warm, humid conditions under filtered canopy light.

Water:
Water thoroughly when the top 1/3 of the compost has dried out. Ensure excess water drains freely, as roots are sensitive to prolonged saturation. Reduce watering frequency during cooler, darker months in the UK, but avoid allowing the root ball to dry out completely.

Light:
Bright, filtered light is ideal to maintain strong variegation. It will tolerate moderate indirect light, but lower light levels may reduce the amount of white patterning. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, especially midday sun, as this can scorch the pale sections of the leaves.

Humidity:
Average household humidity (around 40–60%) is sufficient. It will benefit from slightly higher humidity, particularly during winter when indoor heating can dry the air, but it does not require elevated humidity to grow well.

Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18–27°C for consistent growth. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 12°C and protect from cold draughts, as sudden drops can cause leaf yellowing and stress.

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.

Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.

We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.

We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.

Some plants such as Begonia, may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.

All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.

The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
