🌿 Plant Care Tips

Adelonema crinipes is a rare tropical aroid native to the neotropics of South America, distinguished by its slender, upright stems bearing pointed green leaves with pronounced basal lobes and a vivid yellow midrib. The leaves arise with a glossy sheen and mature to an elongated arrow shape, typically around 20–30 cm in length, creating an elegant, architectural silhouette. 

This plant is well adapted to indoor growing. It maintains a moderate, upright habit of around 30–40 cm tall and thrives under typical household conditions when given attention to light, humidity, and careful watering. 

Native to: South America, primarily tropical regions such as Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and surrounding areas. Leaves are elongated, up to 30 cm long, arrow-shaped with basal lobes and a bright yellow midrib; petioles are slender, red, and spiky—a rare trait among aroids .

Water: Allow the top third of the potting mix to dry between thorough waterings. Reduce watering slightly in winter, watching to avoid soggy soil that can lead to root rot.

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light, such as an east- or west-facing window with sheer coverage. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves .

Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity. Target 60–70 %; using a pebble tray or humidifier is beneficial. 

Temperature: Ideal range is 18–27 °C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 15 °C or cold drafts; indoor heating is acceptable provided temperatures remain stable .

Winter shipping is available during colder months and includes heat packs and thermal insulation where needed.

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.

Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.

We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.

We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.

Some plants such as Begonia, may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.

All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.

The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
