🌿 Plant Care Tips

Hoya sp. Sulawesi 3 is an epiphytic vine native to the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is characterised by its fleshy, oval leaves with a deep green colour and distinct venation. The plant produces clusters of small, star-shaped flowers that are white or cream with a pink centre, forming in decorative umbels. Due to its tropical origins, this species thrives in warm and humid indoor conditions.

Native to: Hoya sp. Sulawesi 3 originates from the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia, where it grows in tropical forests as an epiphyte. It typically attaches itself to trees, drawing moisture and nutrients from the air.

Water: Water when the top layer of soil is dry to the touch. Avoid overwatering, as this species is prone to root rot. A well-draining substrate, such as an orchid mix or a blend of bark, perlite, and peat, helps prevent water retention.

Light: This species thrives in bright, diffused light. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can cause leaf scorching, while too little light may reduce flowering and slow growth.

Humidity: Hoya sp. Sulawesi 3 prefers high humidity levels, making it well-suited for terrariums or glass cabinets. If grown in standard indoor conditions, humidity trays or misting can help maintain adequate moisture levels.

Temperature: This plant grows best in warm indoor temperatures, ideally between 18-27°C. It should be kept away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes, which can stress the plant.
