It’s National Houseplant Week 2025! This week celebrates the UK’s love of houseplants to make our homes and workplaces a more inspiring place.
Houseplants brighten up our spaces, lift our spirits, and even work quietly in the background to improve our mental, physical, and emotional well-being. They help us focus, boost productivity, and create a calming vibe that inspires creativity and melts away stress. They’re pretty much the unsung heroes of our daily lives. They’re there cheering us up on gloomy days and making even the iciest winter week feel a bit more alive.
Whether you’ve got a few houseplants on your window sill or a bursting collection (which we love to call an indoor jungle), we hope you spend some time this week celebrating the joy they bring into your life and deepening your relationship with nature (whilst staying indoors during this icy cold week!).

David Domoney, esteemed English Chartered Horticulturist and celebrity gardener, founded Houseplant Week UK in 2021 to champion the joys of indoor gardening and guide people in selecting the perfect plants for their homes.
At GrowTropicals, our mission is simple: to make plant collecting accessible, affordable, and enjoyable for all hobbyists. And this week should be no exception! To mark the occasion, we’ve rolled out some fantastic deals across our best-selling plants. It’s our way of saying thank you for being part of the GrowTropicals community.

We asked a few of our plant-loving team members to share their personal favourites. Here’s what’s thriving in their collections right now:
The glossy leaves and dark foliage in the Philodendron Florida Bronze are really something special. I love the contrast between this and other lighter foliage in my collection.
- Sonia, Marketing Executive
My Florida Ghost never fails to amaze me when it unfurls a new leaf. I just love seeing new growth that is super variegated!
- Amber, Horticultural Assistant
The unique, heart-shaped leaves of this rare plant make it a standout in any plant collection. Its textured, dark green foliage with those bold veins brings such a sense of depth to my space and it's surprisingly easy to care for considering Alocasia tend to give up in my care!
- Kate, Content Marketing Manager
It's hard to choose just one plant but I feel the Heteroscaspedon doesn't get enough of the spotlight. I love its long and narrow leaves and it's a real stand-out feature in my Malsbo cabinet at home.
- Iwona, Operations Manager
For us, it’s about more than just plants. It’s about the people behind them. It’s you who make this community so special.
