Begonia 'Rouge Variegated' is a rare and visually striking cultivar prized for its unique variegated foliage. The leaves are typically dark green with prominent white or cream variegation, and a distinctive red dot at the center, creating a captivating contrast.
Native to
While specific information about 'Rouge Variegated' is limited, begonias in general are native to tropical and subtropical regions, including parts of South America, Africa, and Asia. They typically thrive in warm, humid forest environments.
Water
Maintain consistently moist soil, ensuring it is well-draining to prevent root rot. Allow the top layer of the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Overwatering or letting the plant sit in water can lead to root issues.
Light
Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while too little light may result in reduced vibrancy of the variegation. An east or north-facing window is ideal.
Humidity
Thrives in high humidity environments, ideally between 50% and 80%. To maintain adequate humidity, especially during dry periods or in centrally heated homes, consider using a humidity tray, room humidifier, or placing the plant in a well-lit bathroom.
Temperature
Favours warm indoor temperatures, typically between 18°C to 24°C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 15°C, as cold drafts can hinder growth and cause leaf damage.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.
Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
