We Won Gold (and Best in Show) at RHS Malvern 2025!

Gold medal. Best in Show. Full marks from the judges.

We’re still a bit stunned, to be honest.

This year’s RHS Malvern Spring Festival was a big one, not just for us, but for the whole houseplant world. For the first time, indoor plant displays were formally judged by the RHS.

We were invited to create a collaborative exhibit, and we didn’t take the invitation lightly. Alongside The Jungle Haven and Worcester Terrariums, we built something that felt true to what we believe in: thoughtful plant care, beautiful design, and deep respect for where these plants come from.

The Exhibit: A Reflection of Nature

Our exhibit was called A Reflection of Nature. It told a story about how tropical plants live in the wild and how we can honour that in the way we grow them at home.

One half of the display was an outdoor tropical habitat, filled with texture, moisture, and canopy layers. The other half? A houseplant-filled living space that mirrored that environment; not just in looks, but in structure and function.

We used cork and bogwood to mount epiphytes as they would grow in trees. An aquatic tank held plants that prefer wet feet. Everything was positioned and potted with purpose.

We weren’t aiming for a jungle crammed with rare plants. This was about quality over quantity, intentionality over clutter, and design rooted in nature

Right plant, right plant

We didn’t just want to make something pretty. We wanted to say something.

When you understand where a plant comes from, you care for it better. That tropical plants don’t have to be trendy impulse buys, they can be part of a slower, more connected way of living.

“This experience has been incredible, not just for us as designers, but for the wider houseplant community,” Jacob said after judging. “We’re proud to have created something beautiful, but also useful — something that helps people reconnect with how these plants really grow.”
