The leaves of this variety of Alocasia appear metallic in varying hues of ruby red, alluding to its name. Native to Borneo.

The 'secret': when backlit or in sunshine, this species appears to glow bright red.
Leaves are waxy, thick and glossy.
Alocasia Cuprea are also called Mirror Plants due to their iridescent, luminous leaves.

Growth pattern: Tuberous & bushes outwards

Water: Little and often. Keep moist but not waterlogged.

Ideal Position: South, east or north facing

Light: Medium to bright, indirect or filtered light.
