🌿 Plant Care Tips

Hoya waymaniae 'Kapuas' is an epiphytic vine native to the Kapuas region of Borneo. This variety is known for its thick, leathery leaves that are oval to lanceolate in shape, exhibiting a deep green hue with occasional silvery-grey spots under optimal lighting conditions.

The plant produces dense clusters of small, star-shaped flowers in delicate shades of yellow or orange, emitting a pleasant, sweet fragrance, especially in the evening.​

Native to: Hoya waymaniae 'Kapuas' originates from the tropical rainforests of Borneo, particularly the Kapuas region.

Water: Water the plant when the top layer of the substrate has dried out. Avoid waterlogging, as it can lead to root rot. 

Light: Provide a bright spot with plenty of indirect light. Direct sunlight can damage the leaves, so it's ideal to place the plant near a window with filtered light or in a bright spot without direct sunlight. Too little light can slow down the plant's growth and impair flower formation.

Humidity: Hoya waymaniae 'Kapuas' thrives in high humidity environments, reflecting its natural tropical habitat. In dry indoor areas or during the heating period, spraying the plant or using a humidifier can be helpful to ensure the necessary humidity. A humidity level of 60 to 80 percent is ideal to keep the plant healthy and promote flower formation. ​

Temperature: Maintain indoor temperatures between 18-27°C for optimal growth. Avoid exposing the plant to cold drafts or sudden temperature fluctuations, as these can cause stress and hinder growth.

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.

Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.

We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.

We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.

Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.

All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.

The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
