🌿 Plant Care Tips

Hoya ranauensis is native to the region around Ranau in Sabah, Malaysia, on the island of Borneo. It thrives in tropical forests where it often grows as an epiphyte, clinging to trees and deriving moisture and nutrients from the air and surrounding debris.​

Water: Hoya ranauensis prefers its soil to dry out between waterings. Water the plant thoroughly, allowing excess water to drain away, and then wait until the top third of the potting medium feels dry before watering again. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's crucial to ensure the plant is not left in soggy conditions.​

Light: This Hoya species flourishes in bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate some direct morning sunlight, it's best to avoid harsh afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves. Insufficient light may result in reduced growth and a lack of flowering.​

Humidity: Originating from a humid tropical environment, Hoya ranauensis appreciates higher humidity levels. Aim for humidity above 60%. If maintaining such levels is challenging, especially during winter months, consider using a humidity tray or placing a humidifier nearby. ​

Temperature: This plant prefers warm indoor temperatures, ideally between 18°C and 26°C. It does not tolerate cold drafts or temperatures below 10°C. Keeping it in a stable environment away from sudden temperature fluctuations will promote healthy growth.

All plants are shipped using express next day services with DPD, UPS, Parcelforce and Royal Mail.

We offer economy shipping (3-5 day dispatch) and standard delivery (1-3 day dispatch).

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.

Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.

We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.

We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.

Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.

All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.

The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
