A new, rare cultivar with striking, black stems as the name suggests. Cultivar of Alocasia zebrina which is native to South-East Asia.
- Leaves are large, arrow shaped and upward pointing.
- Leaf undersides are also veined in black.
- The black stems are actually deep red which can sometimes be seen on the sheaths.
Growth pattern: Tuberous, tall & upright
Water: Little and often. Keep moist but not waterlogged.
Ideal Position: South, east or north facing
Light: Medium to bright, indirect light.
Recommended Substrate: Alocasia Mix
Humidity disclaimer: This plant will grow well outside of a terrarium or cabinet. However, all tropical plants thrive with higher humidity levels. To achieve this we suggest grouping plants together, or putting them in a bathroom or kitchen which gets regular use.
