Begonia komoensis is an epiphytic species native to the tropical regions of Gabon and Equatorial Guinea in West Africa. This begonia features firm, elongated, deep green leaves that grow symmetrically along sturdy, often reddish stems. It produces small, red flowers with four petals, frequently accented by a contrasting white border and prominent yellow stamens.
Native to: Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, West Africa.
Water: Maintain consistently moist soil, allowing the top layer to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. Ensure the potting mix drains well, and consider using a peat and perlite substrate.
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, so it's best to place the plant in a location with filtered light or partial shade.
Humidity: Thrives in high humidity environments, ideally between 70% and 80%. This makes it well-suited for terrarium cultivation, where humidity levels can be consistently maintained. Regular misting or the use of a humidifier can also help achieve the desired humidity.
Temperature: Favors warm conditions, with an optimal range between 20°C and 25°C. Protect the plant from drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations, as it is sensitive to cold. Ensure indoor temperatures do not drop below 15°C to maintain healthy growth.

That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for.
Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
