This plant is particularly admired for its distinctive tri-lobed leaves, which are marked by dramatic variegation: a combination of deep green with broad bands of pink and silvery stripes along the veins, and a contrasting maroon underside. The vine also produces small, yellow flowers that add to its appeal.
Water: This plant prefers consistently moist soil, especially during its growing season. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings to prevent root rot. During the winter months, when the plant's growth slows down, reduce the frequency of watering.
Light: Passiflora trifasciata thrives in bright, indirect light. It requires at least 6-8 hours of light daily to maintain its vibrant leaf colours and promote healthy growth. Direct sunlight should be avoided, especially in the hottest part of the day, as it can scorch the leaves.
Humidity: This species enjoys high humidity, making it well-suited for a humid indoor environment or a greenhouse. Regular misting or the use of a humidifier can help maintain the necessary moisture levels in the air, particularly during dry seasons.
Temperature: Ideally, the plant should be kept in warm conditions, with temperatures ranging between 18°C and 24°C. It can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures but should be protected from cold drafts and frost, which can damage the foliage.
Passiflora trifasciata is a vigorous grower and may require regular pruning to manage its size and encourage a bushier form. It also benefits from support structures like a trellis to climb on.

All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting so they are in active growth when arriving with you.
The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
