Hapaline benthamiana 'Green Form' is a rare tuberous aroid that grows in tropical forests of Thailand and the wider South East Asia region.
Native to: Hapaline benthamiana 'Green Form' is native to the forest of Indo-China, where it thrives in humid, forested environments on limestone formations.
Water: This plant prefers consistently moist soil. Water it thoroughly and allow the top layer of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. It's crucial to ensure really good drainage to prevent tuber rot, a common issue if the plant is left too wet.
Light: Hapaline benthamiana 'Green Form' thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch its leaves, so it's best to place it in a location where it receives filtered light. It can tolerate lower light conditions but will exhibit slower growth.
Humidity: High humidity levels between 60% and 80% are ideal for this plant.
Temperature: Maintain a temperature range of 20°C to 28°C for optimal growth. The plant is sensitive to cold and should not be exposed to temperatures below 15°C, as it prefers the warm, stable conditions of its native tropical habitat. It may go dormant below this.
Dormancy: Hapaline benthamiana 'Green Form' can go dormant during the winter months. During dormancy, its growth slows down, and it may lose some of its leaves. Reduce watering during this period, allowing the soil to dry out more between waterings, and resume regular care as new growth appears in the spring.
