This tropical, slow-growing Hoya thrives as an indoor plant, especially when given bright, indirect light and moderate humidity.
This plant originates from the tropical forests of Sarawak in Borneo, Malaysia, where it grows in warm, humid environments under filtered light. These natural conditions inform its care needs for indoor cultivation.
Water Hoya sarawak cream when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. Be sure to use a well-draining potting mix to avoid root rot, allowing any excess water to drain away fully after watering. In winter, reduce watering frequency as the plant’s growth slows, but avoid letting the soil dry out completely.
This Hoya prefers bright, indirect light. Place it near an east or west-facing window, or provide filtered sunlight if placed in a brighter location. Direct sunlight, especially in the middle of the day, can scorch the leaves, but some gentle morning or late-afternoon sun may enhance its creamy leaf variegation.
Moderate to high humidity, ideally around 50-60%, is beneficial for Hoya sarawak cream. In drier indoor conditions, consider using a humidifier, misting the plant, or placing it on a pebble tray with water. These steps will help promote healthy foliage and blooming.
Hoya sarawak cream thrives in typical indoor temperatures between 15-27°C (60-80°F). Protect it from cold drafts and avoid exposing it to temperatures below 10°C (50°F), which can stress the plant and stunt growth.

All plants are shipped in their plastic nursery pot unless otherwise stated.
Plant pot sizes can fluctuate +/- 1cm.
We recommend to always size up your decorative pot by 1-2cm larger than the stated plant pot size. For example if you are purchasing a 12cm plant, you should purchase a 14cm decorative pot to ensure it will fit correctly.
We pride ourselves on the love and care with give our plants. Our entire team are plant obsessives at heart and so we go above and beyond to care for the plants we have in stock.
That said, plants are living beings and may differ slightly from the photo provided unless otherwise stated. Small leaf imperfections may be present and won't be compensated for. Some plants such as Begonia may suffer slight leaf melt when shipped. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
All our plants are stores and/or grown in our nursery under LED lighting. The conditions in our nursery are a minimum of 60% humidity and 19C year round.
